At Steps OTKids, your child’s privacy and safety come first. We are committed to handling your family’s information with the highest standards of care, in line with Australian laws and professional ethics.

    • Governed by AHPRA, OT Australia ethics, and Australian Privacy Principles.

    • Information is collected only to support your child’s therapy.

    • Personal details, session notes, sometimes photos/videos (with consent).

    • Used for progress tracking, reports, and coordination with your child’s care team.

  • How We Use and Share Information

    • Shared only with professionals involved in your child’s care (e.g., teachers, other health providers) — unless you tell us otherwise.

    • May be shared in supervision or if required by law (e.g., safety concerns, court orders).

    • Never shared on social media without full de-identification.

  • Storage & Security

    • Records securely stored in client management systems until age 25, then destroyed.

    • Access limited to our therapy team.

  • AI Use in Therapy

    • AI tools may support documentation, pattern analysis, or resource creation.

    • Always reviewed by a therapist before use.

    • Data remains securely stored, never shared externally.

  • Your Rights

    • You can request access to your child’s records.

    • You may withdraw consent for certain types of information sharing.
